When Jesus declares, "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also" (Matt 6:21), He clearly defines where our priorities should lie when it comes to finances. Managing our finances appropriately starts with the heart. Will you work for money or will money work for you? Will your focus be on acquiring stuff or on using it wisely?

Upon opening a checking and savings account and learning how to balance your checkbook, your next step is to create a budget which will become your road map to financial freedom. It doesn't have to be difficult - we have some samples and tips to get you started.

You may be surprised to learn that filing federal and state income taxes is just around the corner. Be sure to look for the filing criteria we have listed to see when your earnings place you in the bracket of those required to file.
