It takes someone with a servant heart that works hard to keep the Mission Office building and grounds looking and functioning at its best. Randy Miller has been that faithful servant who goes the extra mile to keep us well maintained and safe when inclement weather or security issues arise. We are incredibly grateful for all that he contributes to the daily operations here at the office.
As we take the opportunity to shine the spotlight on his twelve years of service here at the office, he was kind enough to answer a few questions:
Tell how and when you came to the Mission Office and what your role is.
I came to the Mission Office, July 6th, 2010, to work as the facility manager. I had worked for High Street Baptist Church for 15 years doing the same thing. When the job opened up at the Mission Office after the previous manager retired, Jon had asked me if I would be interested in the job and I said yes.
Tell us about your family and how long you have lived in Springfield.
I have lived in Springfield my whole life. I have two kids, Justin and Janelle, and three grandchildren, Eli, Nora and Logan.
What is one thing that few people know about you?
Something that many people do not know about me is that I have a twin brother and I am four minutes older than he is.
What outdoor activities bring you the most enjoyment?
I like to fish and hunt.
What is your favorite meal you could eat on a regular basis?
I love eating at Nakato’s Japanese Steakhouse or BBQ.
Tell us about any big projects you have coming up at the Mission Office.
Cleaning carpets for the entire upstairs as well as getting ready for our new building.
What has been the most rewarding about working in the Mission Office?
I enjoy working with my coworkers, meeting missionaries and listening to their stories about the fields they are on.
