On Monday, October 2, we start the Regional Missionary Retreat on the coast of Kenya for all the missionaries in Africa. They are coming from all over the African continent, and I am looking forward to welcoming all those who are coming to Mombasa. It is going to be a great time of refreshment and fellowship. Our goal is to be an encouragement to the missionaries attending.
The new building project is moving along well. They are placing the sheetrock on the interior walls while laying the brick on the exterior walls of the Mission Office building. It is looking good. They have the road and parking lots rolled and first layers put down. The framing in the Retirement Housing has started. Soon framers for the Short-term Apartments will arrive to start that building. Final preparations and ordering of materials are done in order to start work on the Event Center. The Mission Office building is scheduled to be completed sometime in January.
Many have asked questions about the Retirement Housing. We are working on the Retirement Housing policies which will include who would have priority, what the cost will be and so much more. We hope to have this completed by the first of the year. Yes, we have already had some submit their names to be put on the waiting list for an apartment. It is exciting.
The September Fellowship Meeting in Clovis, CA was well attended and there was a great spirit. I enjoyed spending time with missionaries. All my meetings with pastors went well. We had one WIN missionary give her testimony. We presented a 30-year award to George and Luisa Dimakos, Greece, and a 50-year globe to Randy and Linda Perkins, Australia. Those are always special times.
I hope you participated in the 938 Sunday praying with other churches around the world for more laborers. Please continue to pray for more missionaries. Prayer really does work! The newest missionary documentary in our ongoing 938 Docuseries is now available. You can find it, along with many other Project 938 materials, at www.Project938.world.
We all do a lot of traveling and have experienced many different airports. I have always wondered which airports have the longest concourses. Top 5: The Longest Airport Concourse Treks In The US. I have had to run through many airports as I am sure you have too. Not long ago I had to run to catch a quick turnaround on a connecting flight and was the last one to board the plane. My heart was pounding and my lungs were straining as I made my way on board. After I sat down, I started coughing which brought on all the “covid” stares. Isn’t travel fun these days?!
Be safe wherever you are!
