(a recent prayer letter received from Ed & Ruby Bausell, Sioux Indians)
God has answered the prayer requests of our last letter. People are open to hearing the Gospel and to receive Christ, but baptisms have been a challenge during and since Covid. Your prayers brought four to be baptized last week, three teen boys and a mother in her thirties. Thank you, and Glory! Glory! Glory to our blessed Lord. Our Bible Studies also picked up in attendance. God is good.
The Lord also opened a door, that rejoices our heart. I sent an email letter in to the local Tribune hoping it would be published. The letter was dealing totally with having a relationship with God through the Lord Jesus Christ, and the impossibility of the forty-two hundred religions, that Google declared there to be, of getting you to heaven. The paper replied ‘it would have to be cleared by the editor.’ To them it did not appear to qualify as a letter to the editor. I put it out of mind, but when the paper came out, the long letter was printed, and had a big print heading, “A GUEST EDITORIAL BY BROTHER ED BAUSELL”. A rose by any other name would smell as sweet. God’s Word will not return void.
We had a four day revival in September. Pastor Kenneth Brock came from the Black Hills area with his family and Native Sioux, that were in his congregation. The preaching was with power. The testimonies of the Sioux was a great blessing. One lady was totally transparent in her testimony. It blessed and encouraged our people who God is able and wants to raise them up in the same way. God is good!
Times have been so hard here on the Rosebud (Reservation) that a lady in our Church asked that we call for a one day fast to seek God’s intervention, to turn back the horrible conditions. Several wakes and funerals have been held. The wakes have been from one to three days, and the funerals take two to four or even five hours. Our Native people really know how to mourn and to have closure.
It has also come time to lift up our Native children here on the Rosebud. For many years the Lord has enabled us, through you, to prepare over hundreds of gift bags for the kids, and for people of all ages. As the Lord leads, try to send items for the gift bags or offerings to purchase items by the first week of December. This will enable us to sort into gender and age to sack and distribute before Christmas. (You may contact him at ed.bausell@bbfimissions.org for an address to ship items to.)
Thank you. “God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love.” Hebrews 6:10. We love and appreciate you.
