-a recent prayer letter from Jonathan & Olivia Solomon, Chile
At the beginning of March, a team from a church in Texas visited for a week. They helped us with a ladies retreat, leadership meetings, street evangelism, and home visits. We are so excited to report that one young woman who has been attending our church asked Jesus to be her Savior during one of those home visits! Pray for Cecilia as she continues to grow in the Lord.
On March 3rd, our church had its anniversary celebration with an attendance high of 92 people! Our church family invited their friends, family, and neighbors who all heard a clear gospel message. After the service, we had a time of fellowship and a baptism service, with four people getting baptized, including our oldest son Isaiah who was saved a year and a half ago.
Part way through March and into April, our mentor missionaries had to make a six-week trip to the States. This ended up being great practice for us, as the daily work of the ministry needed to continue. We grew closer to our national pastor, as he helped us traverse the cultural landscape while I preached every week, taught Bible studies, continued discipleships, and many other day-to-day tasks of full-time pastoring. This time included Easter Sunday, as well as our Lord’s Supper service. We learned so much during those six weeks and are grateful for the guidance we received. We are excited to take what we learned and use it when the time comes for us to start our first church.
We have exceeded capacity in our current building and desperately need to expand. Pray we are able to raise the funds needed to start construction as soon as possible!
We are preparing to assist in the starting of a daughter church that will be located about four hours south of Santiago. Pray for this new church plant!
Pray for our boys as they have been struggling with homesickness.
