Sunday, November 3, 2024, ten missionaries ranging in experience from 45+ year veterans, to missionaries on deputation, to Interns, met at Camp PONDO in the beautiful San Bernadino National Forest near Running Springs, California to attend the Annual Missionary Communication Workshop.  The MCW is hosted each year by Abound Missionary Services, founded by Lewis and Karen McClendon. Abound is a training and coaching agency for missionaries, skilled in providing the tools to enhance their effectiveness in all aspects of communication.

During the workshop, each morning missionaries received classroom instruction designed to enhance their speaking, written, and non-verbal communication skills.  After lunch, they received one-on-one coaching allowing them time to prepare a speech that they present each evening which would then be evaluated.  It was an intense week but every attendee, without fail, said was well worth the investment of their time. 

To better prepare them for a successful ministry, every pastor investing in the training of future missionaries should make the Missionary Communication Workshop an integral part of their internship program.

The Missionary Communication Workshop is held annually and is fully underwritten by Abound Missionary Services making it free of charge to those serving a missionary internship, as well as missionaries on deputation and furlough.
