(a recent missionary letter by Levi and Chelsea Wilson-missionaries to South Sudan)
We are filled with gratitude as we look back over this past month and rejoice in all that God has done. Time and again, we have witnessed the power of the Gospel transforming lives, and we are thankful for your faithful prayers and support that make this ministry possible.
Sunday Blessings
One Sunday, Nancy, a neighbor of Rosemary, trusted Christ as her Savior. Another Sunday, Issa invited his brother, Emmanuel, to church and during the service he placed his faith in Jesus Christ. It is always exciting to see family members bringing loved ones to hear the Gospel and watching God work in their hearts. The last Sunday of the month, the sister of Jennifer, one of our faithful church members, her husband accepted Jesus as her Savior. It was a special blessing to see him receive his very first Bible that day. The following day, he came to our men’s discipleship meeting carrying that same Bible carefully covered to protect it. His eagerness to learn God’s Word was such an encouragement to all of us.
Friday Night Youth Blessings
During one of our Friday youth meetings, we welcomed a first-time visitor. As the Gospel was presented, he responded in faith and received Christ that very evening. We praise God for another young life changed by the Gospel.
Gospel Workshop Blessings
We also completed our second round of our five-week Gospel Workshop. Each participant attended Saturday training sessions and was required to demonstrate the ability to clearly share the Gospel during the practical portion of the class before receiving a certificate of completion. We are thrilled to award certificates to those who faithfully completed the training. One participant, Bonus, immediately put what he had learned into practice. After finishing the course, he shared the Gospel with two of his classmates, and both of them accepted Christ as their Savior! Another graduate, Jaqueline, shared the Gospel with her mother, who also trusted Christ. Nothing brings greater joy than seeing believers equipped to reach others, who then continue sharing the Good News with even more people.
Fellowship Blessings
We closed the month with a special fellowship for the grandmothers and grandfathers in our community (Yabas and Abubas). Around 40 attended this wonderful gathering. One special guest was Pastor Mori’s father, who trusted Christ several years ago. He now teaches in town and invited several of his coworkers to attend. Three young men came with him, heard the gospel, and all three received Christ as their Savior. What a blessing it is to see someone who has grown in the Lord now actively bringing others to faith in Jesus Christ.
As we reflect on this month, our hearts overflow with gratitude. God continues to save souls, strengthen believers, and raise up faithful witnesses who are reaching their families, friends, classmates and coworkers with the Gospel. We know that every salvation represents an eternal life changed forever, and we give all the glory to God.
