Lunch with Heroes…that’s how I felt Thursday, September 3, during our first Retired Missionary Luncheon.  So many of my modern-day heroes in the faith are missionaries who have faithfully served our Lord for decades. I love hearing their stories of how the Lord used them in their countries of service. We may not always be the most talented or polished group, but it is amazing what the Lord can do through a servant who simply says “yes” to His call.

One of the highlights for me was hearing Fran Lingo’s testimony. The Lord used the Lingos greatly on the field in Colombia for more than 50 years, and Fran shared how He continues to open doors for ministry here in the States. One of those doors came through a local Spanish church—an opportunity she had not expected. I’m grateful for retired missionaries like Fran who continue to serve the Lord in so many meaningful ways.

We plan to continue hosting these Retired Missionary Luncheons every quarter here at our new event center. Today, would you take a moment to pray for our retired missionaries as they continue serving Him?
