MKs (missionary kids) are very special around the Mission Office.  It has been our delight to see the MK Program continue to grow thanks to financial gifts received from children and churches alike.  This past year we have been able to add to the program for our MKs:

• Birthday money along with their personalized birthday card
• Resource books given out during Candidate School to each MK family
• Adoption of MK buddies and U.S. travel passports for new MKs
• Gift cards for college-bound freshmen
• More one-on-one time with local college MKs
• Transition education for post-high school MKs

The Kidz4Mkz program is fully into its second season with 52 churches and 4,750 children participating.  Children in the U.S. are hearing the importance of praying, giving, and going.  Funds collected have enabled the Mission Office to provide birthday money and ministry tools such as keyboards, guitars, and puppets for over 350 MKs.  (Contact us if your MK has need of something for their ministry.) The MK Team (consisting of Jill Wolf, Carole Miller, Mike Esquibel, Pam Konnerup, and Jon Konnerup) collectively work year round to:

• Provide transition materials for 15-year-olds to begin discussing with their parents
• Encourage MKs during the Missionary Reunion
• Provide guidance during Candidate School on MK parenting and education choices
• Periodically connect with local MKs
• Make college visits to students outside Springfield
• Confirm that college students have homes to go to for Thanksgiving and Christmas
• Greet all MKs as they visit the Mission Office
