We are excited to welcome Kimberly Riggs as our newest full-time staff member here at the Mission Office. Kimberly was kind enough to share a little about herself and how she came to serve here.
Tell how and when you came to the Mission Office and what your role here is.
“Most of my career has been in accounting for the medical and medical software fields, but for years I have hoped for the opportunity to be involved in missions career-wise. My pastor let me know about the opportunity at the Mission Office and I jumped at the chance. I am assistant to Brian Garrison, helping missionaries with wires, account transfers, loans, POAs and anything else that falls under the finance umbrella.”
Tell us about your family.
“Most of my family is within a three-hour radius of Springfield, which leads to a lot of fun weekends, especially in St. Louis or Branson. I have one son, Jaden, who just graduated high school in May and is pursuing a degree in cyber security. I am enjoying watching his transition into adulthood, and very glad he decided to live at home while he goes to college!”
What activities does your family like to do?
“We just like hanging out with each other. Going to the park, movies, hunting, traveling, playing games, random road trips, just whatever we can think of!”
How are you involved in your local church?
“We are involved at Graceway in Springfield, and have a wonderful small group that has turned into an extended family that I am truly grateful for.”
What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity/hobby?
“I think my favorite depends on the season. This time of year, we tend to go to Branson a lot to enjoy the lakes and the shopping.”
What do you like most about working in the Mission Office?
“Using my degree and prior experience in the private sector to be a part of furthering God’s kingdom. I go home blessed every evening.”
