Although many of you will not be in the States this month for the Thanksgiving holiday, I am sure there are many things you can think of that you are thankful for. I hope you will be able to get with others around that time or communicate with family back home. Following are some things I have heard over the past year from missionaries that they are thankful for:
I am sure you can relate with a few of these. Perhaps you can make a list of things you are grateful for as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday.
The Global Meeting in Costa Rica is approaching, and a lot of preparation has been going on by the churches and leaders in Costa Rica. The dates are July 6-9, 2020. Speakers and guests from around the world will be part of the meeting. I hope you are planning to attend. You can get more information from Jill at Jill@bbfimissions.com or the website, www.BBFICostaRica2020.com. We have a package deal which includes airfare, hotels, transportation and tours, or if you just need to secure your hotel rooms, contact Jill before December 15th. Come and see what God is doing in Costa Rica, and hear from speakers from across the globe who have been impacted by the mission efforts of the BBFI. It is going to be fantastic!
October 22-24, 2019, we hosted the World Mission Forum for the BBC students in the Mission Office building. This is the annual missions emphasis week where we get to share with them the opportunities and needs all around the world. We also show them how the Mission Office can be the vehicle to help them answer God’s call upon their lives. They were challenged by T. & J. Long (CAN), Esteban & Emily Alvarez (Uruguay), Josh & Brenda Lei Casey (Spain) and Shane & Katie Salmon (Thailand). Please pray for those who made decisions and for those sensing God’s call upon their lives.
Finally, I would like to remind you to please keep us informed of your location and contact information when traveling. This helps us during possible times of emergencies such as natural disasters, accidents, or medical situations. Also, churches call us often when trying to contact missionaries and so it would benefit you to notify us of any changes.
I am in many churches across America, and everywhere I go pastors express how proud they are to work with BBFI missionaries because “they are well-trained, prepared, motivated, hardworking, church planters – and they are polite.” Wow, that is a great testimony! The entire Mission Office staff and I are proud to work with you and to be here to assist you in any way we can. Keep up the great work!
Your friend,
Jon Konnerup
