(a recent prayer letter from Brent and Sheila Moeller, South Africa)
Over the past six weeks, we have seen five souls make professions of faith in our services in Durban. Those connected to our ministry have reported twenty-nine people profess Christ at funeral services and memorial services as well as five at a home meeting in another area around Durban. Praise Him!!
The month of May had very busy weekends for us. Besides traveling up to Ashburton to hold bi-weekly Saturday services with the kids at the village, we had several other weekend activities.
On Mother’s Day at the Mayville church, the youth hosted a tea for all the moms present. This was their idea from start to finish.
The following weekend we travelled again to Ashburton to the children’s village and had a men’s retreat. We had twenty-four men present. Our guest speaker gave three practical messages on money and learning to budget. His opening text was the theme of his talks. “For wisdom is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.” Ecc 7:12. The men were greatly challenged by the messages. A new spirit and a new commitment seems to be kindling in our people’s lives.
Please continue praying! A brand new crop of kids can’t get enough of Sheila’s Sunday School! Two parents are now coming and have shown an interest in joining our church because of this!
Landry (our son) is leading our Tuesday night Bible study and will soon begin youth services. On Thursday nights we hold Bible training class and soon we will be reintroducing our monthly leaders training Saturday. The Mayville church meets on Friday nights and holds a meeting similar to the one Landry holds on Tuesday nights.
Please keep praying for the marriages of our leaders. Satan is attacking on that front. There seems to be some positive progress but as many of you can testify, that can be short-lived.
We have been overwhelmed at the generosity we have recently received form many of you!!!! I think God knew we were going to face some unexpected large expenses for medical bills, and major car repairs. Thanks for listening to His voice. What did we do to deserve such generosity?
