In a recent survey of 186 cross-cultural servants, the participants were asked about the motivation behind answering the call of God to serve in their respective fields. The results were very interesting…
While the motivation of obeying God’s call to be a missionary, and more specifically to a certain group of people remains high, this study is very revealing. Instead of simply surrendering to be a missionary, more and more are wanting to do something as a missionary. The World Initiative Network was created, in large part, to take full advantage of this rising missional trend. This new proactive platform will be the sending and servicing agent for a new cohort of missionaries who are anxious and available to literally be “all things to all people.”
What opportunities are available for WIN missionaries?
Industry Professionals: Those who have non-biblical degrees but wish to serve on the mission field. Examples are: Educators, medical personnel, counselors, builders, mechanics, engineers and other professionals.
Retirees: Those who are retired and would like to give their lives to assist missionaries. While they might receive some financial support, their retirement is their primary source of income.
Non-traditional Missionaries: Those who are seeking to assist or work alongside a career missionary developing infrastructural needs such as but not limited to: Feeding centers, nutritional services, orphanages, construction, consultants, medical clinics, and camp administrators. These endeavors will help to facilitate and expand the missionary’s evangelism outreach, discipleship, and church planting efforts.
Church Planting Missionaries: Those sent by their sending church to serve in church planting roles while living and working in foreign countries may apply to use the services of WIN.
Two couples were recently trained and accepted as WIN missionaries and a healthy number of new applications have been received. Please pray that as this exciting new sending platform is launched and promoted that it will become a catalyst for enabling more laborers to enter a very ripe harvest.
