It’s that time again to send a quick email to you. I enjoy putting these together with prayer hoping that in some way this will be a blessing to you. As a suggestion, forward this to your spouse each month too. They may not be getting these monthly emails.

I had a great trip to Japan. It was an honor to preach for the churches of the JBBF as they celebrated their 70^th anniversary. It was a blessing to see many of the missionaries – although, the time was packed and short, so I did not get much time with them. Pray for the missionaries, pastors and churches of Japan. The Japanese people are the second largest unreached people group in the world. The leaders are working hard, but it can be so discouraging. Let’s continue to lift them up in prayer.

The September meeting is a few weeks away. As usual, I have a number of committee meetings to participate in and give reports etc. Pray for me that I might be a blessing to the pastors as I share what God is doing through your efforts worldwide. We will be approving one new family to Chile and reinstating Tim and Jackie Long to Egypt.

Pray for Joyce Piatt here in our office. Her husband, Ray, recently went home to heaven after a lengthy health battle. I know she would appreciate your prayers for her. Her email address is Joyce@bbfimissions.com if you would like to send condolences. Carole Miller was just diagnosed again with breast cancer. This time they believe they have caught it earlier and it is contained. On Tuesday, September 3, she will meet with her doctors to discuss her options. Pray for her too. On that note, we have a number of our Mission Office personnel dealing with a variety of things that are pretty heavy. So, please keep us all in your prayers if you would.

Let me remind you that missionaries are the best recruiters for more missionaries. Most of the new missionaries approved talk about mission trips they went on to be with many of you, or they remember when you came through their church and presented missions. They mention how God used you to impact their lives and challenge them for missions. Keep it up! You can be part of the answer to our 9:38 Challenge prayers for more laborers. God will use you!

I came across this the other day and it spoke to my heart. Maybe it will do the same for you.

Some visitors were touring the grounds of a beautiful mansion, owned by a very wealthy man. In the back there was a very well-kept garden, where a garden keeper was carefully working.

“You are keeping this garden so neat, well-worked and clean, you must be expecting your master to come tomorrow.”

The gardener responded, “As if he should return today, sir, today.”

We should let the truth of our Lord’s sure return motivate us to keep the garden of our hearts clean, as if we are expecting Him to return today. “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.” (I John 3:3).

We are moving closer to the last quarter of 2019. Isn’t it hard to imagine that? Time sure does seem to fly by – and yet there is so much work to do. In fact, the task before us seems impossible. However, Jesus, who has all authority is with us every step of the way, enabling us to do what He calls us to do. There’s no one better than Him!
