Every day the safety of our missionaries is being challenged. Our BBFI missionaries have experienced “express kidnappings” for the sole purpose to get money from an ATM. To date, these situations have turned out favorable in that there was no loss of life or physical harm. Money can be replaced and over time and with counsel, emotional trauma can heal. It is instances like this that reinforce the Missionary Care ministry of the BBFI Mission Office.
The mental and physical safety and well-being of the men, women and their children serving on the mission fields are a top priority to us in the BBFI Mission Office. Emergencies can arise in many forms: health, natural disaster, burglaries, auto accidents, terrorism and the list could go on. Therefore, when emergency calls are received, we listen to the missionary, give counsel, pray with them and, regardless of the time of day or night, we respond as needed.
Because of the Missionary Care Offering, the Mission Office has access to funds that enable us to respond immediately to those in dire need. Since January 2017, the Mission Office has been able to minister instantly to families whose lives were changed in a moment.
The Missionary Care Offering also subsidizes the Annual Missionary Family Reunion making it financially possible for missionaries to attend. This allows them to reunite with missionary friends and Mission Office staff to build a stronger bond and be ministered to spiritually.
Investing in our missionaries helps strengthen them so they can more effectively love, evangelize and disciple people resulting in new churches being started around the world.
There are several ways in which we can provide immediate assistance to our missionaries, but we need your help. You can:

By promising an annual gift or committing to support monthly you can make a difference.
Will you help us care for BBFI missionaries by investing in the Missionary Care Offering?
