Recently, the Baptist Bible Tribune made the decision to drop their publication schedule from eleven to six issues a year. This has caused some changes in our monthly mailing schedule.
In the past, a mail out was sent twice each month. The first mail out was sent when the Tribune was published, hence the name Tribune Mail. The Mission Office covers the expense of sending a Tribune to every missionary along with their first-class mail.
The second monthly mail out was a partial mail out sent approximately two weeks later. A missionary received mail in the partial mail out depending on what was in their file. If their file contained first class mail (bills, personal letters or magazines), that mail would be sent in the partial mail out.
Because of the high cost of mailing flats (Tyvek envelopes) internationally, if the missionaries file contained no first-class mail or contained items deemed non-essential, (EOB’s or monthly office support statement), we would not send them in the partial mail out. Those items will be included in the next Tribune mail, or the next time the missionaries file contained first class mail for a partial mail out. We will continue to send all first class and essential mail received in the partial mail outs.
With the Tribune now publishing every other month, it is possible that there will be two or three partial mailings between Tribunes. That being the case, we just wanted to make you aware that you may not see as many mail packets as you have been used to receiving.
