Donald J. Sidebottom, 83, Lee’s Summit, Missouri, passed away March 9, 2017 at John Knox Village Hospice in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Donald was born February 14, 1934 in Shirley, Illinois, the son of Victor Lee Sidebottom and Edna Belle (Hawkins) Sidebottom. Donald graduated from Higginsville, Missouri, High School in 1953 and married Phyllis Stoll, August 28, 1953. Donald received his master’s degree in Theology of Biblical studies and was called to the mission field spending many of those years in Ethiopia, Africa. Donald loved to smile and had a heart felt passion for leading people to a knowing knowledge of his Lord and Savior. Donald was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church in Blue Springs, Missouri.
Donald was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis, one brother, Larry L. Sidebottom and one grandson Stephen Kyle Sidebottom.
Donald is survived by two sons, Dennis J. Sidebottom and wife Karen, Gallitin, Missouri; Michael Sidebottom and wife Treasure Jean, Blue Springs, Missouri; One daughter, Rhonda L. Littrell, Grain Valley, Missouri; one Brother-in-law Edward L. Stoll, Warsaw, Missouri; one sister Linda L. Comstock and husband David, Grain Valley, Missouri; twelve Grandchildren and eleven Great Grandchildren.

Memorial contributions can be made to the First Bible Baptist Church, Blue Springs, Missouri in memory of Donald Jean Sidebottom.

Visitation will be Monday March 13, 2017 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the First Bible Baptist Church located at 1441 SE Adams Dairy Parkway, Blue Springs, MO.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday March 14, 2017 at 1:00pm at the First Bible Baptist Church, 1441 SE Adams Dairy Parkway, Blue Springs, MO with interment being at Royer Cemetery, in Grain Valley, MO.
