As we near the end of 2020, I think we are all ready to breathe a collective sigh of relief, praying for a better year in 2021. Those of you with school-aged children have had an especially challenging year, as you may have had to rearrange plans more than once when it comes to education for your kids.
I recently came across a website that might be of interest and encouragement to those of you “in the trenches” — www.worldfamilyeducation.com They have a wealth of information concerning the various options of schooling available to those living internationally, as well as articles and resources on a variety of topics.
One article that was highlighted on the home page was entitled, “Caring for your Family in an Ongoing Crisis.” They mention the importance of recognizing the crisis, responding to the crisis, the impact of loss and grief, and suggest ways to resolve grief. They talk about bouncing back after the crisis, recognizing what’s important, and then affirming your child’s identity. As families are going through an unusual time this year, I pray this website might give you some fresh ideas and encouragement no matter where you are right now, and where you are in your journey.
I’m so thankful for God’s word as we face challenges in our lives, and would like to leave you with one verse from Isaiah 41:10, “Fear thou not, for I am with thee: be not dismayed for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.”
Merry Christmas and God bless and keep you!
