On Sunday November 2, 2025, seven missionaries met at Camp PONDO in the beautiful San Bernadino National Forest near Running Springs, California to attend the Annual Missionary Communication Workshop.  The MCW is hosted each year by Abound Missionary Services, founded by Lewis and Karen McClendon. Abound is a training and coaching agency for missionaries giving them the tools to enhance their effectiveness in world evangelism.

During the five-day workshop, each morning missionaries received classroom instruction designed to enhance their speaking, written and non-verbal communication skills.  After lunch they received one-on-one coaching allowing them time to prepare a speech that they would give each evening which would then be evaluated.  It was an intense week but every attendee without fail said was well worth the investment of their time. 

To help prepare them for a long successful ministry, every pastor investing in the training of future missionaries should make the Missionary Communication Workshop an integral part of their internship training.

The Missionary Communication Workshop is held annually and is totally underwritten by Abound Missionary Services making it free of charge to those serving a missionary internship, as well as missionaries on deputation and furlough.
