I saw a social media post the other day that quoted Pastor Adrian Rogers as saying, “It’s getting gloriously dark.”
My mind kept thinking on this since we are dealing with this worldwide pandemic. As the world around us is darkening, those words remind us, in spite of what we see or experience, that God is still in control and things are rapidly pointing to the soon return of Jesus. Just thinking about that makes my heart joyful. What about yours? While others around us are filled with anxiety, we can rest in the sufficiency and sovereignty of our great God.
Since we believe this, it’s obvious that our time to make an eternal impact on people must be short. That is why we need to be about the business of fulfilling His last commandment to the church, the Great Commission. You are a vital part of this special plan of God. Remember your calling and the importance of remaining faithful until His return.
This past month we saw two couples and two singles accepted into the WIN program. Interest in this aspect of the BBFI is growing.
This year we were part of the Liberty University Global Awareness Week. Many showed an interest in the BBFI and WIN. We were also able to minister to the MKs that are there.
The list of the new Executive Committee is as follows:
Recently Brian Garrison sent a message to you after dealing with several issues concerning giving through some social media fundraising platforms. It is as follows:
“Please consider NOT using Facebook’s giving platform Network for Good for your fund-raising campaigns…many times over the past couple of years donations that come through the Mission Office are not clearly marked with the donor’s name; and, more importantly, to whom the donation is to go. To further complicate things, trying to obtain this information from Network for Good is nearly impossible as calls and emails end up in a virtual abyss. This has been a great source of frustration for the staff in Contributions and for my office as well because these funds often do not get to the intended recipient…I would humbly ask that you (re)direct potential donors to your particular page within the Online Donation site. If you need this direct personalized link you can find this information on your myBBFI, or by contacting Kena Mann at kena@bbfimissions.com”
Remember to pray for the ELECTIONS — for God’s will to be done — and make sure you VOTE.
It is hard to believe all that we and the world have been through this year of 2020. The pandemic has surely changed so many things I can’t even begin to list them. Many missionaries have now gone through, or are experiencing, the pains of COVID-19 physically. We need to keep praying for each other! With all these changes, pains, and bad experiences we can still rest in God’s Word. As we come to Thanksgiving this month – yes, already – let’s concentrate on Psalm 136. Verse one is a great summary of the entire chapter:
O give thanks unto the Lord; for he is good: for his mercy endureth forever.
There are still SOOO many things to be thankful for. God is GOOD and His MERCY endures forever! For those who are away from family this year, you can be thankful for technology that allows you to see and hear them from a distance. When fear and sadness and even loss come our way – we can still trust in the hope we have in Jesus. He will always be with us, walk with us, and is preparing a place for us.
We can be thankful in this terrible year that we serve a living God and He watches over us. That makes me so thankful. I am also thankful for you and your faithfulness in these difficult and challenging times.
Let’s give thanks to the Lord for He is good, and His mercy and love lasts forever! Thank you, God!
Your friend,
Jon Konnerup
