It looks like there is still so much uncertainty concerning these Covid-19 variants that are circulating, and each country is responding to them so differently. Some missionaries remain in very strict lockdowns, others are more affected by burdensome restrictions placed upon churches and religious organizations, and then we have a few who cannot return to their field and may not be able to for four or more years. We certainly need to keep praying for each other.
I found an interesting test and thought I would share it with you. I’m sure it has nothing to do with growing up in Africa, but I didn’t do too bad. How about you? Check out this link, You Don’t Know Africa, and see how you do.
The word is slowly getting out! We are working on a new building project. We are going to build a new Mission Office building on the southwest side of Springfield that will include retirement housing for missionaries. We are excited about this and as I have met with the leadership of our Fellowship, they are all excited about it as well. On February 9, 2022, from 2-4 pm CST we will be hosting a virtual meeting where I will be sharing this in more detail. It will also be recorded for those who are unable to join during the live broadcast. We will share more details about the meeting in the very near future.
It won’t be too long, and we will be preparing things for the annual Missionary Family Reunion. We look forward to hosting this once again after having to cancel it the past two years due to the virus. If you are in the States, I sure hope you will plan to attend. Bruce and Charise Garner will be with us. Bruce is an MK, former missionary, and current pastor in Huntington Beach, CA. Bruce will be our main speaker and I know you will enjoy his words of encouragement. The cost is only $50 per couple and $25 per single and it covers the cost of your room as well as breakfast and dinner each day. We will have sessions for the men, women, kids and teens. The reunion will be held June 13-17, 2022. Contact my assistant, Carole, at CMiller@bbfimisions.com for more information.
I pray your new year has started off well. Maybe we will see each other at a Mission Conference or, if you get to come through Springfield, stop in and say hello. If not, be safe, stay healthy, and keep your eyes on the King!
Your friend,
