March 2018

This year is clipping along pretty good. We just finished the February National Fellowship Meeting in Ft. Worth, TX. I met with the Executive Committee, the Mission Committee and the Mission Field Committee (Field Reps). I shared with them what the Mission Office is doing and the needs of our missionaries. We prayed for you and want to let you know you are much appreciated and considered vital in reaching our world with the Gospel.

I want to remind you of the Missionary Family Reunion which takes place in Branson June 11-15, 2018. This year Pastor Tim Adrian will be the speaker. He is the pastor of Westside Baptist Church in Hutchinson, KS. I know he and his wife, Pam, we be a blessing to all who attend. We are already making plans to make sure this will be a week to encourage and strengthen us all in the Lord and for His service. There will also be a lot of activities and spiritual encouragement for the kids and teens. Make plans now to attend if you are on furlough during that time.

Many of you have prayed for Tim and Jackie Long and have asked how he is doing. Well, the doctors basically advised him not to return to Egypt due to his health condition. Although I had already hired Brian Garrison to replace Tim as the Finance Director, I felt Tim still has a lot to offer the Mission Office and provide assistance to missionaries. So, I offered Tim a position to help with the new missionary applications, missionary training, and to work specifically with the CAN missionaries. At the same time, Bob Kotulski is no longer working in the Mission Office. I had hired Bob to assist Tim Long with various financial responsibilities of the Mission Office. However, with the hire of Brian Garrison, the position Bob held is no longer needed. So, moving forward, Brian and his assistant, Jacque, will be taking care of the responsibilities related to missionary finance. If you have any questions or need assistance, you can contact them directly.

As I close this monthly letter to you, I think about I Corinthians 1:9 which says: “God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” This verse reminds me how our God is a faithful God. We live in a world where there is a lot of unfaithfulness. Yet, we see in Scripture that our God is faithful to watch over and care for us.  Notice Deuteronomy 7:9: “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God…” and Psalm 36:5: “Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds” and Lamentation 3:23: “…great is thy faithfulness.” He is faithful to take care of our needs according to Philippians 4:19: “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”

I know there are times when you lose support, or the dollar loses value, or the cost of living goes up.  Sometimes these all happen at the same time.  Nevertheless, our God is faithful.  We give our lives to serve Him all the while knowing He cares for us.  He will never leave us nor forsake us!  I hope you will find God’s faithfulness in all areas of your life as we begin the month of March 2018.
