–a recent prayer letter received from a Creative Access missionary
Once again, in the government of “N” there is a growing opposition and antagonism directed at Christians and churches throughout the country. Churches are increasingly under pressure from local communities and governments to cease having weekly services. In the extreme remote areas of “N” the persecution of Christians has once again become a reality. Most of the opposition comes from Hindu nationalists in the government.
Yet, as history testifies, the effect of this kind of opposition and persecution is usually the direct opposite to what the authorities intend. Christians and churches usually grow and become stronger during these periods. This is exactly what we are witnessing in “N” at this time.
Not only are our three churches full and thriving, but we are in the process of being able to start a new church. We recently traveled to our church in “D” for a special all day worship service. Despite opposition from the local village the church was full. The church in “B”, western “N”, has already baptized more believers this year than all of last year. The “K” church has seen a new influx of believers and continues to be full every week. Home Bible studies continue to grow. We are also seeing the beginning of the next generation of Christian leaders in our churches. Young men are surrendering to the Lord’s call to ministry. It is exciting to hear them preach and to watch them assume roles of leadership.
In the midst of all that I have described, daily life continues for our believers. We are having weddings, the birth of children, and the daily needs of our believers as they live as Christians in a non-Christian country.
“N” needs the fervent prayer of believers in the United States at this time. Please pray that the believers here in “N” will not only be faithful, but that they will also continue to fearlessly proclaim the gospel of Christ among their countrymen.
Thank you for your support and prayer for the ministry in “N”.
