A little over a year ago I suffered a heart attack which required two stents. Over the next months I encountered some angina and have dealt with the side effects of medications. However, things have improved quite a bit. I am thankful for all the prayers which were so encouraging and helped me to reach full recovery. It is good to now be off blood thinners. It won’t feel so cold all the time.
I have a couple of international trips scheduled this month. I would appreciate your prayers for safety and that I would be a blessing and encouragement to the missionaries I will be visiting.
We are getting close to completing the Retirement Apartments. City Utilities will install the gas meters and check for gas leaks. The HVAC company will check the heating and air units, and the plumbers will check the water. Once all of that is done – the final inspection by the county. Please pray all will go well on these final steps. We are looking at making two of the one-bedroom apartments available for long-term rentals for those needing a place for several months up to a year. We will keep you posted on those.
Seems like there is a lot going on in so many different parts of our world. There is a lot of turmoil, fear and uncertainty. At the same time, these things give us open doors or opportunities to shine the Light of Jesus Christ in this ever-darkening world. D.L. Moody said:
We are told to let our light shine, and if it does, we won’t need to tell anyone it does. Lighthouses don’t fire cannons to call attention to their shining – they just shine.
I also recently heard someone say this:
The reason we Christians are not in Hell is God’s Grace; the reason we are not in Heaven is the Great Commission.
Oh, the importance of following God’s call to shine the Light right where he has you! The times are hard, but the call of God is stronger. Don’t give up when the enemy tries to dim your light. Greater is He that is in us, than he that is in the world. We love you, pray for you, and are here to help you at any time. We are in the battle together!
