It is with sadness of heart we inform you of the homegoing of Lavern Rodgers, veteran missionary to the people of Japan.  Bro. Rodgers served the Lord for 73 of the 95 years the Lord gave him on the earth preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ among the people of Japan whom he loved dearly.  Having only recently retired from active ministry, at the age of 95 he passed from this earthly life into heaven around midnight on Wednesday, August 17, in Washington. This world has lost another light in the darkness as Lavern met his savior face to face and was reunited with many, he loved so dearly that preceded him to heaven.

One can only imagine his joy when he heard the voice of his Savior and saw the glories of Heaven.

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” – Corinthians 2:9

Please join the entire BBFI Missionary Family in praying for the Rodgers family as they grieve this tremendous loss.
