Greetings from the Finance Office. Over the past several months we have encountered a few issues that required our assistance for some of our missionaries. These issues could have been avoided by some simple planning.
We have a few suggestions for you:
- Life Insurance Beneficiaries. Make sure that ALL life insurance policies you own have at least one beneficiary listed, though more than one is better. You can contact Mike Duff for inquiries about your IMG/Standard life policies: mduff@bbfimissions.com.
- Every missionary should have both a ministry and personal bank account with Commerce Bank. This will assist with organization of your funds. Contact Wendi in the Finance Office to set up a new personal account if you do not already have one: wpage@bbfimissions.com.
- Owners on bank accounts. For couples, make sure that BOTH husband and wife are named as owners on your bank accounts. Also, make sure that you designate a TOD (Transfer on Death) on ALL your bank accounts. Wendi can assist you with either of these details.
Other Banking Issues:
- Executive Order 14067—Ensuring Responsible Development of Digital Assets: I have read this Executive Order in its entirety and am staying up to date on any news surrounding its implementation. To date, I do not see any need for concern regarding the physical dollar. However, should that change, I will definitely keep you all in the loop.
- Wiring Issues: Over the past several months we have experienced some significant “delays” in some of you receiving your wires. In most of these extreme cases, the problem has consistently resided with the “receiving” bank, or the missionary’s local bank. While we share your frustration, we wanted to take the opportunity to reassure each of you that we will always do everything within our control to ensure that your funds reach you in a safe and timely manner. Unfortunately, our control reaches its end sometimes when those funds leave our shores.
Please reach out to me with questions about any of these issues: bgarrison@bbfimissions.com
Serving with You,
Brian
