Our mandated mission to spread the good news of the gospel has always been urgent. In order for that great task to be carried out we have always needed pastors, churches, and missionaries to labor together. Over the last four decades, however, it has been heartbreaking to see the decline of our missionary personnel – not only within the BFFI, but across every evangelical missionary sending agency. Missionaries are now retiring, resigning, and coming “home” at unprecedented rates. Together we have been actively praying for the Lord of the Harvest to send forth laborers into the field. We have many victories in which to rejoice:
Yet, despite these victories, we are still losing ground on the field. Tragically, many missionaries return home for reasons that could have been prevented. We must take personal responsibility for changing this narrative. An unexpected crisis can easily overwhelm a missionary family. Knowing there is a safety net available brings them unimaginable peace of mind. One of the vital ways you can help is to be involved in the Missionary Care Offering. Our Mission Office works tirelessly to support, love, and protect our missionary families, and this annual offering makes that care possible.
If you have already sent support for this annual offering, thank you for your generosity. If not, we would sincerely appreciate your partnership in reminding our missionaries that they are not alone. We are in this together. Thank you for standing with our missionaries as they further the gospel.
In Christ,
Rev. Tracy Roby
