In just eight weeks at the Mission Office, I’ve been amazed by the wealth of resources and materials available here. Honestly, as a former missionary, it’s a little embarrassing to realize how much I didn’t know existed! I read the emails from the Mission Office regularly, but I never fully grasped the depth of what was offered.
Since stepping into my role as an Associate Director, I’ve taken a deep dive into these resources, starting with the Digital Design Packs, exploring the Beyond Borders page, and uncovering so many valuable tools. Have you heard about the GO Pack? It’s a comprehensive planning guide for short-term mission trips—covering everything from “Where should we go?” to “What should we pack?” My favorite section, especially as a former youth pastor, is the 12-month planning guide that helps teams stay on track every step of the way.
Another great resource is The Mission Journal, a 30-day devotional designed for use before, during, and after a mission trip. Just last month, a pastor told me it was a game-changer for his church’s short-term mission trip.
We also have the GO Series, a four-week video teaching series for students on the Great Commission, taught by BBFI missionary to Thailand, Shane Salmon. These videos are just the beginning! There are dozens of videos available, covering different regions, specific countries, and individual missionaries.
If you haven’t yet explored Project938.world, I would encourage you to do so. It’s packed with inspiring videos to encourage your church in missions. The 938 docuseries is especially well done and is perfect for Sunday school or small group settings.
For the next generation, Kidz4Missionz is a 10-week curriculum designed to take your children’s ministry on a virtual journey around the world, exploring different countries and cultures while learning about missions. This flexible resource works well for summer programs or as part of a missions emphasis at your church.
Let me encourage you to take a few moments today to explore bbfimissions.com and project938.world. Click through the resources pages and you just might discover something new that will make a lasting impact on your church’s missions efforts!
