“I cannot express how grateful I am for your extreme generosity with a gift that will definitely be helpful toward my college transition and dorm room expenses! It really means more than you know to me that you thought of me during this special moment in my life. Thank you so much for being such a blessing and an example of God’s continued provision for me!”
This is just one example of how our MKs are being encouraged on a regular basis through the MK Team here at the Mission Office. We were recently able to send gift cards to our MK college freshmen to help with dorm room or college expenses as a result of the funds that pastors have provided.
“Thank you so much for everything the MK team has done. It has been such an encouragement and The Returning Well study has really helped with adjusting to the States again.”
This fall marks the second year we have been offering this study to our transitioning young adults. MKs and parents alike have seen the benefit of the extra attention given during this challenging time in their lives.
The MK Team has been instrumental in creating a space for MKs to voice what MK life is like. A number of BBFI MKs have now written several blogs which describe the uniqueness of their lives and how they have seen God work. Be encouraged as you can see those at bbfimissions.com/bbfimk.
The Kidz4Mkz program saw a 30% increase in church participation thus far in 2018. Over 5,300 children have been impacted with the importance of missions and how they can be involved in praying, giving and going. A lot of positive comments have been received about this year’s videos and materials:
“We appreciate the work you are doing. It was a blessing for our kids to understand that missionary kids are a lot like them, with similar likes and activities. It brings missions to life for them.”
“Your program was very good and it worked really well for us. The kids loved learning a little about other countries and I think that the most impact came from the fact that the missionary kids themselves told the kids what their missions field was all about. I really enjoyed learning about it and using it during our VBS this year. Maybe this is a program we can continue to utilize throughout the year in different programs here at our church. Thank you very much for providing great information and resources.”
From the funds which we have received through the Kidz4Mkz program, we have been able to send out birthday money to all MKs age 18 and under, and we have purchased a dozen different musical instruments and equipment that MKs are now using in ministry.
We are excited and covet your prayers concerning future ministry expansion ideas! It is such a thrill to see the beaming faces of our MKs as a result of how much the BBFI churches and Mission Office staff are able to love on them!
