New And Lasting Fruit
Our annual Advanced Mission Training was a wonderful week together. We had 24 presenters who invested in our missionaries through four different training tracks: those recently approved, those completing their first year of deputation, missionaries transitioning from WIN to BBFI, and those being reinstated.
One of the greatest blessings of the week was simply spending time together. Training is important, but relationships are just as important. It was a joy for our staff to get to know these missionaries personally and for them to become acquainted with the people who will be serving them for years to come. We look forward to seeing how God is going to use this new group of laborers.
I also thoroughly enjoyed my recent trip to Brazil, where I was invited to speak at the bi-annual meeting of a fellowship of Independent Baptist churches. Nearly 200 churches were represented, and the theme was “Evangelism and Missions—Here Am I, Send Me!” One of the highlights for me was hearing from many pastors who had been trained through the years by BBFI missionaries. Those men are now faithfully leading churches, reaching their own country, and sending missionaries around the world. Several have pastored the same church for more than fifty years. Seeing the lasting fruit of faithful missionary service was a wonderful reminder that what you are doing today will continue to bear fruit for generations to come. I also enjoyed being with the Trasks and the Howells.
We are continuing to emphasize Project 938, and I hope you are encouraging your people to keep praying. God is still calling laborers, and we are praying that many more will hear His voice and respond. Along with praying, we are placing a renewed emphasis on GO. May we continue to encourage believers to go around the corner as faithful witnesses and around the world as missionaries. On October 4, 2026, churches around the world will observe 938 Sunday, joining together in prayer for the Lord to send forth laborers into His harvest. I hope you and your ministries will join us.

Please know that we pray for you often. We realize the challenges you face are real. Around the world, the enemy continues to oppose the work of God in many ways. Because this is true, I reminded our new missionaries during training of the wonderful promise found in God’s Word: “Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” (1 John 4:4) Isn’t that great to know?
Paul also reminds us in Romans 8:37:
“…in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”
What an incredible promise! We are more than conquerors because our risen Savior reigns with all power and authority. The One who called you has not forgotten you. He walks with you each day, strengthens you for every challenge, and will faithfully accomplish His purposes through your life and ministry.
May the Lord encourage you, protect your family, and continue to give you joy as you labor for Him.
