In 1950, the Baptist Bible Fellowship International sent 19 missionaries to 4 foreign countries…China, Japan, Mexico and the Philippines. Since then, the BBFI has sent over 1,800 Career Church Planting Missionaries to serve in over 120 countries around the world and there are currently over 750 BBFI Missionaries serving in over 80 foreign countries.
It is incredible to take a step back and look at the big picture of the work God has done through the faithfulness of the pastors, churches and missionaries of the BBFI. While a great work has been done around the world, it is important to remember that the work is not finished. There are more people alive now than ever and that number is increasing at an alarming rate. With the growth in world population, comes more opportunities than ever to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth.
This May, the BBFI saw more people willing to surrender to the call of God on their lives and follow in the footsteps of those who have gone before. The following is a list of the newly approved BBFI Career Missionaries and newly accepted missionary of the World Initiative Network.
Bethany Dick (Philippines) – Bethany’s sending church is Fairfield Baptist Church in Fairfield, OH, pastored by Rob Rosenbalm.
Steven and Laura Pratt (Canada) – Steven and Laura’s sending church is Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington, OH, pastored by Josh Dixon.
Chris and Miranda Shirrell (Japan) – Chris and Miranda’s sending church is Graceway Baptist Church in Springfield, MO, pastored by Bob Stephenson.
There was also a new Creative Access Missionary approved but they are not listed for security reasons.
Makayla Frye (Kenya) will be using her nursing and ministry degrees working alongside WIN Missionaries, David and Kim Hayes, and BBFI Missionary, Lisa Moore. Makayla’s sending church is High Street Baptist Church in Springfield, MO.
While we are always excited to see new missionaries being sent, the question before us now is…who’s next? Would you consider joining the BBFI Mission Office, this year, in praying for more missionaries to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Visit project938.world for more information on how your church can get involved in Project 938 and join us every Tuesday morning at 10 AM CT on YouTube for the 938 Podcast.
