(a recent prayer letter received from Richie & Missy Orrick, Wales)
The month of May picked up right where April left off regarding the strict lock down of the entire country of Wales. Despite the situation we continued to minister to our church family by utilizing our website for the Sunday sermons and Zoom for our Wednesday night prayer and Bible study as well as our Sunday night youth meetings. Overall, our church family has navigated pretty well through the storm. Praise the Lord!
On May 8th, the United Kingdom celebrated the 75th anniversary of Victory In Europe Day. In keeping with the festivities, all the while adhering to social distancing, we along with our neighbors decorated for the occasion and enjoyed a cup of tea and scones. Even though this pandemic has kept us isolated, it has somehow enabled us to connect with our neighbors as never before.
Though the Corona virus has completely disrupted the way most of us function on a daily basis, the one thing that it did not affect for us was the kid’s schooling since we already home school. That being said, Briton and Bella were able to complete school for the year and are now officially on summer break!
Another special occasion we were able to celebrate this past month while in quarantine was the 8th birthday of our family mascot, Hank. We actually got him back on Briton’s 6th birthday and so we decided to have the kids recreate the picture they took 8 years ago when we brought Hank home.
Even though we have not been able to “do ministry’ the way we were used to, we still have been doing everything we can to help get the Gospel out to the people in our community and one of those methods that has been effective for us has been our church website. Weekly, we have had an encouraging amount of traffic on it and many have heard some of the salvation stories of people in our church family. Speaking of salvation stories, this past week we added another one to our website. Please feel free to listen to Wayne’s story at ebcbuckley.co.uk. His journey to Jesus from evolution is pretty powerful.
As we close out this month’s letter, we want to first of all say thank you so much for both your prayerful and financial support. We also want to ask you to continue to pray for the lock down here to be lifted. Right now, we are hoping to have church services sometime in July.
Serving Christ Together,
Richie, Missy, Briton, and Isabella
