Nicaragua – a country of over six million people, has been in the news for the past several months because of a widespread uprising by the people protesting the current government. Over 300 people have been killed since April 2018, prompting many of our BBFI missionaries to seek safety in other countries. Even though democracy and human rights are being suppressed, our missionaries have just recently been able to return to the country to continue in their efforts to reach the predominantly Catholic citizens. Our missionary families know that it is ultimately God who opens and closes doors for ministry. Currently, they are excited to be back among their people under God’s watchful eye.
Mission groups are once again encouraged to begin making plans to join them for short-term ministry in the months ahead. Please continue to pray for the safety and effectiveness of our BBFI missionaries serving in Nicaragua:
