Hamjambo! Hola! Bonjour! Guten tag! Ciao! Asalaam alaikum! Konnichiwa! Ni Hao! Yassou! Selam! Anyoung haseyo! Shalom! and so many others…
We had a great week of fellowship during the national meeting at Park Crest Baptist Church. New missionaries were approved and the Wednesday Missions Morning went very well. We showed the Lavern Rodgers Documentary which was a huge blessing.
Now, on to the next main event which will be groundbreaking for the new building project for retired missionary housing and new office building. This will be held on October 7, 2022, at 11:00 am. Lunch will be included on the grounds by Commerce Bank. If you are in town, I hope you will attend this exciting occasion. Click on this link BBFI Building Project to see renderings of the property and buildings. Once open, simply click anywhere on the picture to advance to the next picture.
Brian and I have already met with a few retirement centers to learn how they administrate things as well as manage the cost. We have visited some in Springfield and in Florida. Most of them manage housing for retired missionaries. Soon we hope to have more details to share with everyone.
Craig Stevenson sent an email out to all the missionaries recently about the WIN program asking if you have any opportunities we can list for potential ways to work alongside you. Following is the WIN Opportunity Request Form.
If you read my letter this month, would you let me know by just sending a quick reply?
While reading through Ephesians 6, I was reminded that I should not confuse prisoners of war with the enemy. Our struggles are not against sinful people but against the real enemy – Satan. His evil system and supernatural forces will cause certain attitudes and actions by people. Paul labeled them as “rulers . . . powers . . . rulers of the darkness of this world. . . spiritual wickedness in high places” in vs. 12.
These could be demons who infiltrate various political systems of the world, trying to direct human leaders to resist God’s plans. An example is a demon called “the prince of the kingdom of Persia” in Daniel 10:13. He withstood God’s angelic messenger to Daniel until Michael the archangel came to the rescue. Other demons are involved in the most wicked and immoral kinds of sins: gross immorality, cultic practices, Satan worship, and so many other things we see around the world today.
Those who reject Christ and God are unwitting prisoners of war – captured and mobilized by the Devil to accomplish his purposes. Tragically, when he’s finished with them, he’ll abandon them to an eternal hell.
You probably know unbelievers and false religious leaders who enjoy ridiculing your faith and making life difficult for you hoping you will quit and leave. You might be struggling with government issues as well as dealing with all kinds of attacks from those living in gross sins. Although that is hard to take, be patient and don’t become resentful toward them. Ask God to make you an instrument of His love as you reach out to them. Also, pray that God will remove their spiritual blindness so they can see beyond Satan’s lies and recognize their need for a Savior. Being a missionary is not easy, especially being in the strongholds of the enemy who does not like you being there.
There is another part of these verses in Ephesians 6 where Paul says in verse 10: “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.” Our God is greater than anything the Devil can bring our way.
Stand therefore and pray always!
Your friend,
