I had a fabulous time meeting with our people in the CAN country that I mentioned I was going to. They are doing a great job of training new people and shining the light as they can.
This month I was part of three mission conferences from St. Charles, MO to Kansas to the Washington DC area. Also, I led our annual Advisory Board meeting where Brian, Steve and I meet with 10 pastors and a missionary and discuss all things missions. It is also a very valuable time with great input.
As this goes out to you, I am in the Ivory Coast visiting with Tim and Barbara Downs. This is my first time visiting this country. God is doing great things here and it has been a blessing to visit with the Downs. From here I go directly back to Ft. Lauderdale, FL to speak at a missions banquet at one church and the next day preach in another church Sunday morning. The week after that, I go to South Dakota for our National Fellowship Meeting and the following week to Liberty University for their Global Focus Week. Please pray for my travels and for strength to keep up with my schedule.
We have several missionaries who are struggling with major health issues including cancer treatments. Satan is attacking some in their marriage, their families, as well as attacking ministries. He is working hard and working overtime. Let’s remember to pray for one another. I’d like to encourage you to download our BBFI Missions app which lists the missionaries – except for CAN. I know we all believe in the power of prayer.
Our Advanced Mission Training (formerly known as Candidate School) was a blessing. It was good to spend time with our new missionaries who were recently approved and on deputation. Even some of our WIN missionaries attended. Pray for them as they raise support so they can arrive on the field as soon as possible.
Remember Project 938 and the need to pray for more missionaries. Jesus commanded us to do this. We have people in churches all over the world praying for more laborers. As we pray for each other, let’s remember to pray for more to join our forces worldwide. Also, remember, you are the best “recruiters” we have. Please challenge churches to send more and for people to surrender to go.
We are experiencing somewhat of a standstill with the building of retirement and short-term apartments. The inspections have revealed a few things that need to be corrected by the framers. We had people break into several and steal some of the wiring out of them. The short-term apartments must have a sprinkler system which is now installed. Once we get the approvals from inspections, we can begin putting up the drywall. We just ordered the flooring for the short-term apartments. Keep praying for the building project and for the funds that we need to raise. I can’t wait to see them done and begin to be occupied.
Those who have come through the new office building love it. If you get the chance to come see it, we would love to show you around.
May the Lord bless you with a wonderful, fruitful month of September.
Your friend,
