The Radisson Hotel in Branson, MO hosted the 2018 Missionary Family Reunion where whole families “had a wonderful time, and felt loved and encouraged.” Guest speaker Tim Adrian (Pastor at Westside Baptist/Hutchinson, KS and current 1st Vice-President over Missions) challenged and encouraged all who attended. Thanks to the generous financial gifts of 20 churches and individuals, 100 attendees truly left refreshed, some saying it was the best Reunion they had been to. After seeing the renewal that missionaries gain from attending, one couple came forward with the desire to provide a scholarship for a family every year.
Other highlights enjoyed were ladies sessions led by Pam Adrian, the medicine of laughter from Comedian Jarrett Dougherty, the annual bowling outing for families, and the traditional evening enjoying Dolly Parton’s Stampede Dinner Show. Friendly competition arose as multiple winners took home $20 in the race to produce a peculiar item named by Steve Bender.
While the children enjoyed a VBS style ministry provided by the Cherry Street Baptist Church (Springfield, MO), the teens bonded with other MKs, learning about living wisely with a grateful heart. With so many memories made at the Promised Land Zoo, Silver Dollar City and Wonders of Wildlife Aquarium, it was hard to say goodbye when the week was over.
If you will be in the States during 2019, make plans now to attend the Missionary Family Reunion June 10-14.
