A short post to update you on a new benefit for those on the Career Medical Plan.

Previously, the Medical Plan covered a shingles vaccination for up to $200. Participants were required to pay out of pocket for the injection and submit a claim to International Medical Group for reimbursement.

Recently we were able to arrange with Universal RX (our prescription provider) to cover the injection as part of the prescription benefit.

Beginning 3/15/2019, participants in the Career Medical Plan who would like to have the Shingrix vaccine, may do so at any of the major pharmacy chains (Walgreens, Walmart, CVS, COSCO, etc).

The new benefit will cover the vaccination with a $0 co-pay and a maximum benefit of $200.

Because Universal RX negotiates the pricing with in-network pharmacies, the cost for the vaccination should be about $175. This means no out of pocket expense to you.
