(a recent prayer letter from Stan & Jackie Sherwood, Panama)
We are so blessed to have many families with children attending the services of La Gracia. One of the major reasons for building a new church building is to have classrooms for our children and youth ministries (of course we ran out of space in our sanctuary as well), but the children are so vitally important to the future of La Gracia! Please pray with us that we will have all the funds needed for completion of the building. We have planned for a new feeding center/computer study area for students as we pray that classes will begin again next March. God is doing an amazing work here, but we know your prayers are opening the doors to reach into these families lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
All Christians should be involved with discipling because this is part of the Great Commandment (Matthew 28:19-20). A major part of the ministry of La Gracia is discipleship. Teaching and preaching from Sunday school and services is very important, but we have a 14-week discipleship class that breaks into small groups to study the major doctrines of the Bible.
Our desire is that the families of La Gracia will be strong and mature in their understanding of their Bible, and to be confident in their positions on biblical doctrine. Please be in prayer for this new class of students!
We want to give thanks to God again for everyone that has helped this ministry here in attaining the land, and helping us to move forward with building a new church building. We know God will bless and honor each and every one of you for your faithfulness in prayers and support. We give thanks for bringing others into the church body that are helping with project design, blueprints, permits, and even contractors that will be doing the work. Please pray for continued opportunities to minister to the future workers and to share the Gospel with them!
