As I write this, the Taliban have taken over Afghanistan. That transpired really fast, catching the US and NATO off guard. It is amazing and sad how that happened. COVID-19 forced a massive, global economic shutdown that continues causing lockdowns in various parts of the globe. The entire world was affected in just a few weeks. Various new strains of the Coronavirus are spreading around the world. Legislative and political change in the USA has been sudden as well. Can you believe what we are seeing happen in America? Perhaps the best example has been the sweeping change in how Western democracies view gender issues. We have been living in a time of rapid change.
If we are honest, for those serving in ministries around the world, these changes cause alarm and can be discouraging. In fact, it has put some in the situation where they can’t return where they were serving. So many things, from small to large, have changed all around us. Yet, based on our understanding of the end times, something could happen suddenly – namely, the Lord’s return. Wouldn’t that be the best change ever!? Jesus had a lot to say about watching for the signs of the times. As leaders, I pray that we would not serve and minister out of a spirit of fear, yet, at the same time, be very aware of the changes going on around us. What an amazing time to live in!
September 20-23, 2021 is the National Fellowship Meeting in Gladstone, (KC area) Missouri. We will present two couples for approval and one couple for internship internationally. If you will be there and are interested in sitting on one of the approval committees let Carole know at Carole@bbfimissions.com.
Project 938 is moving forward with many churches around the world praying for more laborers. We are fervently working on plans for the 938 Sunday on October 3, 2021. Would you join us in this effort to see more laborers in our churches, starting churches in America and surrendering to go as missionaries?
Check out our weekly podcasts on YouTube at BBFI Missions. We interview missionaries, pastors and others while also sharing about missions and the Mission Office.
Please continue to pray for missionaries who are struggling with COVID. With all the lockdowns, restrictions and changes in ministry, there are many who are discouraged. Satan is working hard to block the light of the Gospel and dampen the efforts of our missionaries. Let’s remember to keep each other before the throne of God.
The Great Commission is still there. God is still on mission. The call upon our lives is still real. May we all remain faithful and keep our eyes upon our Master and Leader. God bless you!
