It’s already the month of May. Around here, that means the May Fellowship Meeting is upon us. It starts early in the month on May 3-5 with graduation on Friday the 6th. During the meeting we will be in various committee meetings sharing how things are going with the Mission Office and around the world. Pastors come to these meetings with great anticipation to hear updates about BBFI missions. We have several couples to approve, and several families are changing fields. Thursday morning is the missions morning and one of the items we will present is who the next documentary will be about. We will also share about the efforts of our missionaries and others helping the Ukraine refugees. I look forward to seeing those who are planning to attend.
Plan on joining us for the annual Missionary Family Reunion. It is the week of June 13-17. If you are in the States during that time, we would love to see you in Branson. You can get four nights at the Radisson, meals, dinner at the Stampede and a whole lot of fun with other missionaries. You will greatly enjoy hearing from the main speaker, Bruce Garner. I have a friend from college who will be with us a few days. Pam and I were on a mission singing team together with him. No, I did not sing. I was the media technician. There will be fun things for your kids every morning, and amazing activities and lessons for the teens. You get all of this for $50 for a family and $25 for a single. You can’t do much better than that. Plus, there will be many prizes to win. I sure hope you will come.
Well, I haven’t traveled internationally since January 2020. Have I mentioned that before? I know, YES! I guess you could say I am itching to travel. Hopefully this summer and/or fall will see some opportunities open up as countries open up as well.
I came across a new term recently. Conflict entrepreneur. It is someone who benefits from creating conflict. Wow, don’t we see that in social media and the current news today? People rev up conflict in so many ways in our culture and world. So, what would the opposite of a “conflict entrepreneur” be called? What about peacemaker? Jesus spoke about them and we could sure use more peacemakers in our world. Jesus said they are blessed.
I thought you might find the hourglass picture below interesting. Not sure of its complete accuracy but it is fascinating to consider. And then again, it is representative of the people around us we need to reach with the Gospel. I am so thankful God has you where you are, piercing the darkness with the Light of God’s Word.
Your friend,
