Music in a video is not about your preference. You have to ask yourself, “What will help me get my message across the best way and to bring my audience to respond the right way.
Don’t Use Copyrighted Music
Using copyrighted music, pictures, videos without permission is stealing, and it can lead to fines per use. We can’t and won’t post or share it. Facebook and YouTube will flag it. You don’t have to do it because there are so many places to get great quality sounding music.
Tempo and Style
Decide before you choose your music and even before you create video what kind of speed and feel you want to tell your story more effectively. Then match them when editing your video. A good video editor will cut/fade shots with the music. Time-lapses and hyper-lapses are fast and probably should be matched with a slow and emotional song. Slow-motion doesn’t look the greatest with energetic music. When the music doesn’t match the video, it is incredibly distracting and will pull away from the story your trying to tell.
Know Your Audience
Be wise. Some churches may not want to hear a Dubstep track inside their place of worship. That may be offensive to some. You can play it safe; it is not worth losing support or possible support over a preference. Choose music that drives towards action and invokes the right response that helps your cause and mission.
