We just finished another week of training for our new BBFI and WIN missionaries.  It was exciting to watch both 1^st and 2^nd year missionaries soak up the knowledge and ask lots of questions.  During the week I am privileged to teach on Church Planting, Deputation, Financial Planning, all things Financial and Legal, and yes…Quarterly Reports (though Tiffany Brown and Kena Mann do the heavy lifting in this area).  

After being refreshed and reeducated ourselves during the week, Tiffany and I would like to share with/remind you of a few important issues regarding the QR.

1. Because the Mission Office carries the 501(c)(3) through which the missionary’s funds move, the IRS considers the BBFI Mission Office the “managers” of these non-profit funds and must give proper accounting per IRS codes.
2. Therefore, to maintain compliance with certain IRS regulations, the Mission Office must require a comprehensive, accurate report of missionary’s finances in a timely manner.  According to IRS precedence this “timely manner” is 90 days.
3. Any love offering received from an individual or a church given directly to you, because you are a missionary, must be reported. 
4. US Taxes & Preparation Fees are a personal expense, not a ministry expense. 
5. Personal funds repaid (D17) are for Deputation Missionaries only. 
6. Our mobile app is available in your App Store under MyQReport.
7. Please ensure you have the correct missionary number on your report.
