We are excited to introduce you to Tiffany Guthrie, administrative assistant to Associate Director, Craig Stevenson. Tiffany loves missions and has quickly become a good fit for our office. You can see from her answers below how missions and serving in her local church has long been her passion. If you would like to send her a personal greeting, you can reach her at tiffanyg@bbfimissions.com.
Tell how and when you came to the Mission Office and what your role here is.
I came to work at the BBFI Mission Office in May of 2021 after working 9 years for a local Credit Union. My roles include assisting Craig Stevenson with the recruitment and application process for new missionaries, communicating/planning events, and conducting research and data collection for special projects.
Tell us about your family and their connection with missions.
I come from a large family where I am one of seven children. We are originally from Wichita, KS, but we have lived in the Springfield area for over 25 years. My mother homeschooled all seven of us and my youngest brother will be graduating high school next year.
I have had a heart for Missions and Children’s Ministry since I was very young. I have had the privilege to go on a few short-term Mission trips over the years; two with Seminole Baptist (my home church) and one with Compassion International. It is my desire to one day serve on the Mission field.
What is one thing that few people know about you?
I have been a puppeteer for 18 years and have Directed the Puppet Ministry at Seminole Baptist Temple for 7 years.
What is your favorite indoor/outdoor activity?
I enjoy walking/hiking nature trails, reading books, teaching children about Jesus, and spending time with family and friends.
Who has been a personal mentor and how have they influenced you?
My mother and grandmother are both godly examples and role models that I look up to. My grandmother is a prayer warrior who loves and prays for her family steadfastly. My mother exemplifies a devoted wife, mother, and prayer warrior. Both have been my biggest supporters and encouragers through the various seasons of life. Their faith and selfless service inspire me to grow in my walk with the Lord every day.
What are your personal goals?
My goal is to devote myself to a life of service to the Lord whether that be through raising a family, serving the local church, and/or foreign missions.
In God’s timing and if He wills, I will marry my best friend, John, and we will follow our calling to serve the Lord for the rest of our lives together.
What do you like most about working in the Mission Office?
I appreciate the helpful atmosphere and the opportunity to assist our missionary families, while also learning new skills.
