(a recent prayer letter received from Carolyn Torres, Spain)
We are experiencing something truly special here – what many are calling a “quiet revival”! Across parts of Europe, and especially in our local churches, we’re seeing a fresh and powerful movement of God’s Spirit – especially among young adults. It’s not a traditional revival with fanfare, but a deeply personal awakening. Young people are seeking meaning, truth, and authentic community. Many are coming to faith on their own, opening Bibles for the first time, and desiring to understand who Jesus really is.
Over the past three months, both our Spanish and English ministries have felt the impact of this quiet revival. Our services are growing, with young men hungry for God’s Word, young couples with little ones filling our pews, and hearts being stirred to follow Christ.
We’ve launched one-on-one discipleship classes and have celebrated baptisms every month – Praise God! The Spanish church outgrew its building, and just three years ago we moved into a larger space. Now we’ve even completed the second floor to make room for more Sunday school classes!
Next on the list: building a nursery for all the sweet new babies and toddlers joining our congregation.
And something equally amazing is happening in our English-speaking church. Once mostly made up of seniors, it has blossomed into a multi-generational community. We’re now training Sunday school teachers and have a growing group of teenagers on fire for God!
Both churches are partnering closely – training, discipling, and walking alongside these new believers as they grow in their faith journeys. It’s beautiful to see God at work!
Please continue to lift up Pastor Hugo and Pastor Jason in prayer as they shepherd and guide these precious new believers.
On a personal note, I have a small prayer request. My laptop recently went to electronic heaven! A dear friend gave me his old Dell as a temporary fix, but it runs on Windows 7, moves slower than a snail, and occasionally decides to take naps on its own! Please pray for the Lord’s provision for a new laptop so I can continue the ministry work effectively.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your faithful prayers, encouragement, and support. Your partnership in this ministry means the world to me. Just when I start to wonder if retirement might be around the corner, the Lord gives me more to do – and I’m joyfully saying, “Yes, Lord”! I promised Him I’d keep serving until He calls me home, and with your prayers and support, that’s exactly what I’ll do.
