Soon you will see a change in the 30-year award that is presented to those who have served as missionaries for 30 years. We will no longer be awarding pins. Those missionaries will now be given a 30-year award that is a very nice trophy with a globe on top to show our appreciation for their faithfulness as missionaries.
If you have read my new book, please take some time to write a review on Amazon. I would appreciate it very much. I hope you enjoy the read!
Through the years, many missionaries have used Raptim Travel for airfare. Raptim has now merged with Key Travel. For more information about Key Travel, please go to www.keytravel.com. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please email info.grapevine@raptim.org, visit www.raptim.org or feel free to call 1-800-777-9232.
Your PCWs will change in January 2019 due to changes in both the US COLA and the field COLAs. You will receive a revised PCW in early January. Please look it over and let us know if changes are needed. Changes may be sent to debbie@bbfimissions.com.
Your 1099s will be completed and sent by the end of January. Please be sure we have the correct tax preparer on file for you.
Later this month you will receive information concerning some changes to the disability plan. The Mission Committee voted to approve these changes which will give you some options.
The World Initiative Network (WIN) is active. You can read more about it on the website at www.worldinitiativenetwork.org. We already have several couples who will be accepted through this platform in January.
Our office will be closed for Christmas on December 24 and 25. We will resume our regular office hours on Wednesday, December 26. I hope by now you have received our Christmas card with the picture of the staff. One of the things we like to do each year is find a couple or family who are in their senior year at BBC and training to be missionaries. Instead of buying gifts for each other, each of the staff gives $15.00 and we purchase gifts for this family. We get a wish list from the family and we also bring in food items to give them. Then, one afternoon, before we head home from work, we all go to their home together with boxes of food and gifts. We visit for a short time, sing a Christmas song, pray with them and leave them shocked with all that has been brought to them out of love. It is a lot of fun for sure!
Pam and I, along with the entire Mission Office wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We pray for you often and care about you. I know there are many struggles out there to overcome. May this be a very fruitful time of year as you present the reason for the season on your field. You are loved!
Your friend,
Jon Konnerup
