God Is Still Calling
The September National Fellowship Meeting in Boston was a meaningful few days for the BBFI and the Mission Office. During the meeting, our office participated in several committee meetings and had the privilege of leading the Mission Morning service. It was encouraging to see pastors and leaders from across our fellowship gathered together with a common desire to advance the Great Commission.
One of the highlights was the presentation of our annual third-party audit of all funds received and processed during the previous fiscal year. The audit was presented and approved, and we rejoiced in the opportunity to report that $37 million was processed through the Mission Office last year.
More than simply being a financial number, this represents the faithfulness of churches across the BBFI. The audit continues to demonstrate the stability and integrity of the Mission Office, while also reflecting an encouraging increase in missions giving among our churches. We are grateful for every church that faithfully gives to reach the world with the Gospel.
More Missionaries on the Way
Another encouraging report was the number of potential missionaries currently moving through the approval process. Over the next twelve months, we could potentially see 10 new missionaries approved for the BBFI and another 10 for WIN.
Of course, there are many steps between a missionary’s initial presentation and final approval, so we ask you to pray that God will continue to guide each of these individuals and couples. Would you continue praying the 9:38 prayer from Matthew 9:38?
“Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”
God is still calling people to take the Gospel around the world. We need to continue asking Him to raise up laborers for the harvest.
Welcome to the Hillgers
We also had the privilege of presenting Mason and Brianna Hillger for approval as missionaries to Canada. They did an excellent job during their interviews and gave clear and compelling testimonies of God’s call on their lives, their passion for reaching people, and their plan for ministry in Canada.
Mason and Brianna are sent by Trinity Baptist Church in Big Spring, Texas, where Scott Kirkland serves as pastor. I was personally encouraged by their presentation and can highly recommend them to your church. I believe you will be encouraged as you get to know them and hear what God has placed on their hearts for Canada.
God Is Still Working
As we look back on the National Meeting, one thing continues to stand out: God is still calling.
He is calling men and women to take the Gospel to places around the world. He is working through our missionaries. He is working through our churches. And He allows each of us to have a part in His mission.
What a privilege it is to serve together in taking the Gospel to the world.
Thank you for faithfully praying, giving, sending, and supporting missions. Thank you for all you do for the cause of the Great Commission.
